This book is comprised of two Virginia State Documents prepared in 1834 for the Governor by the Secretary of State.
Document No. 43 is a list of the names of non-commissioned officers and soldiers of the Virginia State Line, and the non-commissioned officers, seamen, and marines of the Virginia State Navy. Specifically, these are the names of veterans whose names are on the Army Register, and who had not received bounty land for their service.
Document No. 44 is a list of the non-commissioned officers and soldiers of the Virginia Line on Continental Establishment, whose names appear in the Army Register, and who had not received bounty land for their services.
There are approximately 7, 350 names on the lists. Each name is followed by the rank and corps to which assigned.
