William Redfin, or Redfen, or Redfyn, or Redfyne, and it is spelled in various early New England records, was probably one of the earliest residents in the Colony of Massachusetts. The year of his arrival is unknown, but as early as 1639, he occupied a house and four acres of land on the south side of the Charles river, about six miles from Boston. His family consisted of spouse Rebecca, daughters Lydia, Rebecca, and Judith, and son James. It is their descendants detailed in this book.
