This book begins with Solomon Peirce, who was in the sixth generation from the original immigrant, "John Pers of Nowch" (Norwich, England).  John Peirce arrived in New England in 1637 and settled in Watertown, Mass.  Solomon Peirce married Amity Fessenden.  The records state he was a cordwainer (shoe maker) and farmer.  He was a "Minute Man" and was wounded slightly at the Battle of Lexington, but not so seriously as to keep him from serving at the Battle of Bunker (Breed's) Hill the following day.

He was born in 1742 and died in 1821.  He and Amity had eleven children, and this book details their descendants.
