This book details the ancestry of Eliza Keyes, who married Captain George North of Virginia, back to the year 1633, when Robert Keyes arrived at Boston in the Massachusetts colony. He eventually settled in Watertown, Mass. The ancestry of George North is traced to Robert North, who lived in England about the year 1400, during the reign of King Henry V. The history of the early Lords and Barons North of England, three of whom (Lord Edward, Lord Roger and Lord Dudley) are direct ancestors of George North is given in detail. Some of the later Norths became Lords Grey, Lords Guilford and Earls of Guilford, the book shows. It tells of the going of a brother of the second Lord Dudley to Ireland, and of the emigration of a grandson of this brother to Philadelphia in 1729.
The latter was the grandfather of George North. It is the descendants of this George North who are detailed in this book.
