George Holmes was born in England and immigrated to New England in about 1631. He settled in Roxbury, Massachusetts, where he and his wife Deborah raised a family of eight known children. George Holmes died in 1645 and his wife died in 1662. George was a disciple of the Apostle John Eliot.
This book also contains the known descendants of Deacon David Holmes of Woodstock, Connecticut, and a genealogy of the descendants of John Holmes, also of Woodstock, Connecticut prepared by E. Holmes Bugbee.
