Habersham seems to be but one variety of spelling the name, and Habershon, Haversham, Habergham, Habrinchsham, all appear to have been names derived from the ancient family of Habergham or de Habrincham. The highly honorable, ancient and prominent family of Habersham of Georgia descends from James Habersham, of Beverley, Yorkshire, England, who with his wife and children lived in that country, and had the following children: James, Elizabeth, Edward, George, Margaret, and Joseph.
The following allied family names are mentioned with varying degrees of detail:
ROCKWELL, DAVIES, WALLACE, COLEMAN, ROGERS of New York, WOOLSEY, PENDLETON, BARD, DUMMER, HOLT, BARRINGTON, MANIGAULT, CLAY, VERDERY, CUTHBERT, STILES, CUMMING, ADAMS, FENWICK, READE, JACKSON, BARNARD, BOWERS, BOLTON, KING, McLEOD, NEPHEW, DE GIGNILLIAT, PRATT, DE TREVILLE, JOYNER, STANYARNE, DAVIS, ELLIS, BAYWARD, YONGE, BREWTON, JONES, DUNWODY, DENNIS, ELLIOTT, SCREVEN, BOND, KOLLOCK, JOHNSTON, HOUSTOUN, LEWIS, BRYAN, WILLIAMSON, BOWER, FULLER, POTTER, OWENS, ANDERSON, and MATHEWES.
