    Benjamin Gilbert, born 1799, died 1872, married Mary Falconer, and was a farmer in Stamford, New York. They has 7 children.
This book also has the ancestors of Benjamin Gilbert beginning with Thomas Gilbert who was born in England in 1592. Thomas died in Wethersfield, Conn. in 1659.
The first record of Thomas in America is his purchase of land in Braintree, Mass., Feb. 12, 1639. From Jan. 1644 to 1655, he lived in Windsor, Conn. (See "Hist, of Anc. Windsor" by H. R. Stiles). The last four years of his life he was a resident of Wethersfield, Conn. He was a farmer and carpenter.
