   Thomas Fuller, the progenitor, came to New England from England in 1638. He was intending to return to England after a visit, but became interested in the sermons of Rev. Thomas Shepherd (Puritan) and remained.  He married 1st Elizabeth Tidd and 2nd Sarah (Nutt) Wyman.  He had 7 children, all by Elizabeth.  He died in 1698.  Joseph Fuller, the subject of the book was a great-grandson of the immigrant Thomas. He was born in 1705 and married 1st in 1730, Abigail Putnam; she died in 1764 and he married 2nd Mrs. Rebecca Wyman.  He had five children and it is the descendants of these individuals who are detailed in this book.

   This book presents 13 generations of the descendants of Captain William Fuller of Virginia, Maryland, and South Carolina.  He was born in England about 1620 and arrived in Virginia in about 1652.  He and his wife lived in Virginia and Maryland for periods of time before settling in St. Andrew's Parish, Berkeley County, South Carolina, where they both died. He was married to Sarah Martiau or Martien, daughter of Nicholas, and together they had 4 known children; three daughters and one son, William, Jr.  The book presents a brief history of the settlement of Virginia and then the genealogy of the descendants of William Fuller, Jr.
