The first of the name was John Done/Doane who immigrated to New England and settled in Plymouth Colony early in its history (about 1630). The exact year not being known. He is called "Deacon Done or Deacon Doane" in many of the Colony's records. In other records his wife is named Abigail. They were the parents of 5 children: Lydia, Abigail, John Jr., Daniel, and Ephraim. There may have been more, but only the previous five are found in the records.
