Col. John Davis of Oxford, Connecticut was born about 1645, probably in Wales. He lived in the Town of Derby, Connecticut between the years 1680 and 1690. He was then known as "The Welshman". He later removed to Oxford, Conn. The name of his first wife is unknown. His second wife was Mrs. Mary GUNN. His third wife was Abigail TIBBLES. He had 14 children by the three wives.
