     This book contains the genealogy of eight generations of the descendants of Thomas Burgess and his wife Dorothy in New England.  There are 4,605 individuals named in this genealogy. 

     Thomas Burgess and his family arrived in New England sometime between 1630 and 1637.  In the latter year he was granted a section of land in that part of Plymouth called Duxbury.  Shortly after, he removed to Sandwich, where he died in 1685.  His wife died there in 1687.
