Descendants of Nicholas Boon

Generation No. 1

1. Nicholas1 Boon was born Abt. 1615 in Exeter, co. Devon, England, and died Aft. 1694 in Isle of Wight Co, Va. He married Ann Abt. 1640 in England. She was born Abt. 1618 in London, England, and died Bet. 1650 - 1700 in poss Virginia.

Notes for Nicholas Boon:

Described in at least one document as "merchant of London". He immigrated to the Virginia Colony from England in approximately 1663. He settled in the tidewater region of Isle of Wight County, not far from Jamestown. The name "Nich (NB) Boone" appears on a petition of "Grievances" signed by several residents of Isle of Wight County dated October, 1677. In the same year he was involved in an undescribed court suit. He may have had more children, but only one has been found in extant records.

2. Thomas2 Boon (Nicholas1) was born Abt. 1640 in England, and died 1723 in Isle of Wight Co, Va. He married Elizabeth Ratcliff Abt. 1684 in prob IOW Co., Va. She was born Bet. 1640 - 1665.

Notes for Thomas Boon:
Thomas came from England in about 1663, and settled in the Tidewater area of the Isle of Wight County, Virginia not far from Jamestown. Isle of Wight County, Virginia was an original shire established in 1634 under the name of Warrosquyoake (also spelled Warrosquoyacke or Warrascoyak). The name was changed in 1637 to Isle of Wight County.

    Seven additional generations, 334 individuals, that resided in Isle of Wight Co., Va.; Chowan Precinct, N.C.; Bertie Co., N.C.; Franklin Co., N.C.; Nash Co., N.C.; Northampton Co., N.C.; Surry Co., N.C.; Edgecombe Co., N.C.; Edgefield Co., S.C.; Pendleton Dist., S.C.; Wilkes Co., Ga.; Jasper Co., Ga.; Burke Co., Ga.; Wilkinson Co., Ms.; and numerous other places, are detailed in this book.
