This publication contains detailed abstracts, including all of the 1,907 individuals mentioned in the 383 documents that comprise Bedford County Deed Book 2. This deed book contains, predominantly, land records recorded in the Bedford County Court between September, 1761 and June, 1766, although there are bonds with recording dates as early as 1757. For the year 1766, there are no recording dates for January, February, March, or April. In addition to deeds, other types of documents, such as powers of attorney, bonds, mortgages, and bills of sale are present and are abstracted as well. Although the handwriting in this deed book is large, there are some areas of faded and illegible writing, especially in the middle of the deed book. However, a detailed effort has been made to present a full and faithful reproduction of the original deed book.
