This book contains detailed abstracts of all 568 pages of documents in Amelia County Deed Book 2, which covers the years from 1742 to 1747. These documents, although predominately deeds, also include wills, mortgages, deeds of gift, bills of sale, renunciations, bonds, plats, and releases. Prince Edward County, Va. was not cut off of Amelia County until 1754, and Nottoway County was not cut off until 1789, so this book contains deeds for both of these present-day counties as well. All data of genealogical interest has been included in each abstract. Husbands, wives, children, etc. are mentioned in these records. Approx. 1,500 names of individuals and places have been indexed.
