This book records the descendants of John Kemper of Virginia. He was one of the original settlers of Germanna or Germantown in Stafford County, Virginia. The name derives from several sources and has several meanings, one being the German word for soldier - kempe. The focus of this book is the descendants of John Kemper, born in Germany in 1692. He married in about 1716 Ailsey or Alice Utterback and had nine children. Allied families traced are Lawson and Hathaway.
