Edmund Greenleaf, born in England in about 1600, died Boston, Mass., about 1671, is believed to be the common ancestor of the Greenleafs in America. His descendants, of his 1st wife, Sarah Dole, are detailed in this book. He arrived in Massachusetts in 1635 and settled first in Newbury. From about 1650 he resided in Boston, and it was here that he died in about 1671. His son, Stephen Greenleaf had ten children.
