The book's full title pretty much describes its content;

     "Genealogy and History of a part of the Newbury Adams Family, Formerly of Devonshire, England, Being the Descendants of Robert Adams and wife Eleanor, Who were the First American Ancestors of the Newbury Adams Family, who came to Ipswich, Mass. in 1635, and Settled in Newbury, Mass. in 1640; Together with Other Valuable Information Collected and Prepared for Publication By: Smith Adams of Milltown, Me., formerly of Newburyport, Mass."

     ROBERT ADAMS, tailor, born in Devonshire, England, in 1601, married ELEANOR (____), and SARA, widow of Henry Short, whose maiden name was Glover, 6 Feb. 1678.  He died 12 Oct. 1682, aged 81 years.  He had no children by his second wife.  He was the first American ancestor of the Newbury Adams family.  His first wife, Eleanor, died 12 June, 1677.  Their children were: 1, John; 2, Joanna; 3, Abraham; 4, Elizabeth; 5, Mary; 6, Isaac; 7, Jacob; 8, Hannah; 9, Jacob.

    This book contains eleven generations of Robert's and Eleanor's descendants, as well as information of genealogical interest about the Rev. James NOYES family; the PETTINGELL family; the KNIGHT family; the PIERCE family; The HILLS family; the BRAY family; the Lieut. Joseph NOYES family; the SAVORY family; the STEVENS family; and the WILSON family.
